So, what can I tell you concerning “The Truth About O,” other than that it was a Best Video of the Year Nominee? Of the “O” trilogy, this was the most unabashedly “inside” in sensibility. The entire cast had worked in BDSM performance previously. It was like giving the play party you always wanted to attend with just the people you’d invite.
This time out, O is played by Bobbi Starr. Bobbi is possessed of what my friend Gram Ponante described as “a certain brunettitude,” that sets her apart from both her predecessors, bringing a unique realism to O’s character. She inhabits the part very naturally, which is hardly surprising considering that she began her X-rated career working at kink.com. Her portrayal of O is clearly informed by personal experience. I hardly had to direct her at all. She’d read the book, seen the previous installments and hit all the right notes in an effortless, instinctive manner.
O’s master Steven, (played by fellow kink.com veteran James Deen with customary swagger) tasks her with procuring an additional slave for their household. This is established in flashback, as the picture opens in a new club where Marie, reprised yet again by our beloved Nina Hartley, has deployed a small squadron of her latex-clad house girls to help a friend kick off the first night’s activities. In front of a crowd of LA’s prime perveratti, the astonishing Claire Adams and luscious Justine Joli put on a bondage sex performance that riveted our group of extras in reality just as much as it does onscreen. I never had to call for silence or attention once after Claire and Justine got started. Justine never looked more beautiful than when hoisted aloft, naked and spread open, by Claire’s fantastic rope suspension and drilled relentlessly to multiple orgasms (the real kind) by a vertical fuck machine.
Not surprisingly, O’s eye falls on beautiful Yvette (Asa Akira, one of the hottest players ever in XXX, also experienced in the world of BDSM and visibly delighted to be playing such a juicy part in every sense of the word). Yvette is currently property of young master Thomas (Danny Wylde).
O, practiced at this kind of game by now, invites Thomas into her boudoir, where she dons wicked lingerie and locking ballet boots to give up her ass to him. We next find Yvette in O’s studio, posing in elaborate naked shibari positions devised by Claire for O’s camera and telling O of the inevitable collapse of her arrangement with Thomas. Clearly, it’s time to introduce Yvette to Steven, and how better to present her than already exposed and bound? The scorching 3-way that follows includes every kind of kink-sex this trio could devise, including a double-BJ with Bobbi suspended upside down while Asa works from below. No surprise this three-way was AVN-nominated for Most Outrageous Scene.
Yvette is destined to become Steven’s slave. If you want to find out how the players work out their arrangements, you’ll have to see “The Truth About O” for yourselves. I will tell you this much: if you have half as much fun watching this 3-hour sex-and-bondage epic as we had making it, you’ll have gotten your money’s worth.
